NEW YEAR, MORE FUN!!

Welcome back to a new Scout year!

Our first Den Meeting is at St. Eugene on September 8th, at 7pm! I look forward to welcoming all of you back and to have a great year. There is much already planned, and even more being planned. Our first Pack Meeting, as well as the official Round Up, will be on September 22nd and will hopefully showcase the new format we’re trying out this year in regards to Pack Meetings.

September 20th, we are assisting Troop 515 in running the drink booth at the International Food Festival and will need volunteers. This is a great time to come together for fun and community. More information is here: http://www.thefoodfestival.com/

All returning scouts and family, feel free to invite friends and family to come and join in, even before our official Roundup/Open House.

Here’s to Fun and Family!

As announced prior, my family is participating in a St. Baldrick’s Charity Fundraiser.  This year, we’ll be joining the North Hill’s event, April 12, 2014 , to have our heads shaved to raise awareness and funds for children’s cancer research.

All scouts, family and friends are encourage to either donate, or participate in fundraising and getting your head shaved!

Please check out our team’s website:  Wendell Scouts

On our website, you can see our progress as well as learn more about this great charity.

Pack Family Campout

As a pack, we plan to offer as many opportunities for all of us to get together and have fun, while expanding our Scouting experiences.

Our first big opportunity is an overnight camping trip to Jordan Lake.  This is planned to occur October 5-6, 2013 at Vista site 5, Jordan Lake.

This is a wonderful opportunity to test out the camping gear prior to Spook-o-ree, to have a fun weekend with the family and all our scouts!

More will be announced at the Den & Pack meetings, soon! Comment with number planning to attend.

Camp-o-Ree / Spook-o-ree

Our current district council is hosting a Spook-o-ree October 25-27, 2013.  A Halloween themed weekend campout, it looks to be a rousing good time for our scouts and families!

We will be getting a tentative head count as soon as we can, so we can proceed to early registration.

Benefits to early registration: cheaper registration costs, possible option for the kids to work on their BB gun belt loops and pins, more time to plan and prepare for all the fun activities!

Spook-o-ree’s website this year is at:  http://neuseriverdistrict.org/fallcamporee/Home.aspx
